CABMA Convention 2024

 

The Short's team recently attended CABMA's 74th Annual Convention from June 9-12, 2024. We were proud to sponsor the Welcome Social and the Doug Beard Golf Tournament, both of which kicked off the event. Everyone had a fantastic time! 

The Short's team enjoyed reconnecting with familiar faces and engaging with attendees once again! It was a joy to catch up with old friends, meet new people, and share in the vibrant energy of the convention.



US State Department Reopens Online Passport Renewal Portal

Renewing your expired or soon-to-expire U.S. passport just got a lot easier. 

The State Department reopened its online renewal portal on Wednesday, unveiling a beta program designed to speed up processing for travelers who meet certain criteria in efforts to avoid issues faced last summer.

How Record Heat May Impact Air Travel This Summer

 

Summer is definitely a busy travel season for American air carriers, but extreme hot temperatures and unpredictable summer storms might impact air travel more this summer than it has in the past.

Expanding Passport Agencies Across the United States

 

More Americans can travel abroad today than at any time in our history.  In 1990, only five percent of Americans had a passport.  Today, that number is 48 percent.  In Fiscal Year 2023, the Department of State issued over 24 million passport books and cards – more than ever before.  To better serve the growing number of Americans seeking U.S. passports, the Department is taking steps to establish six new passport agencies.  These offices – which will open in Salt Lake City, UT; Kansas City, MO; Orlando, FL; Charlotte, NC; San Antonio, TX; and Cincinnati, OH – reflect our commitment to provide prompt customer services to more Americans closer to where they live.The six additional facilities will expand our passport network to 35 passport agencies and centers and over 7,400 public passport acceptance facilities nationwide...read more


 

AAA Predicts 71 Million Americans Will Travel During July 4th Holiday Period 


As travelers prepare to hit the road for July 4th, AAA projects that 70.9 million will travel 50 miles or more from home over the Independence Day holiday travel period.

 

AAA included the entire July 4th week, plus the Saturday before and the Sunday after the holiday, in the estimate this year for the first time. As a result, the projected total is a five percent increase compared to 2023 and an eight percent increase over 2019…read more

YStarbucks and Marriott Bonvoy are teaming up to make earning and redeeming points easier on both platforms.
