Sales Outreach Specialist (remote)

Short’s Travel Management, a leading provider of NCAA Athletic travel for collegiate athletics, has a immediate opening for a Sales Outreach Specialist with our Sales Development department. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to generate leads for our Sales team.  We have a great team culture where we genuinely enjoy who we work with. So if you are persistent, results-oriented, have a strong customer service or telemarketing background, this may be a great fit for you!  This is an hourly, non-exempt position.  It may work remotely. 

This position is responsible for generating prospective sales leads and new client sales for Short’s Travel Management services – hotels and charter bus via outbound phone calls, emails, and social channels. This position will utilize networking and customer relationship skills to contact and qualify strategic prospects.  An individual in this position will be required to generate, develop, and qualify new leads for our sales organization, helping us drive growth and increase our market share. This role will be part of the sales and marketing department and report directly to the Senior Director of Sales.  The candidate placed in this position will possess the ability to function autonomously and be effective contributing in a team environment.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales role; travel industry background a plus.

  • Collegiate Sports background a plus.

  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excels at time management and prioritizing tasks

  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills with attention to listening and details.

  • Displays a positive attitude with energy and enthusiasm and a willingness to share ideas.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must utilize CRM tool for all outreach.

  • Ability to travel required (5-10%).

NCAA Travel Coordinator

As first contact for our NCAA Travelers, this position is responsible for domestic and basic international customer travel requests from assigned accounts for both group and individual travel. Travel requests are received and responded to via all means of business contact (phone, e-mail or portal) for air, hotel and car reservations in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. This position manages all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements, including support of on-line bookings. This position is located in our Waterloo, IA office but may work remote.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree and/or a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar customer service position.

  • Travel Agency experience preferred, but not required.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as well as evening and weekends shifts during peak business periods is required.
