Senior Project Manager

Short’s Travel Management is seeking a dynamic, qualified, and experienced candidate to fill the open position of Senior Project Manager (SPM).  A qualified candidate is required to have a BS or BA degree or equivalent experience, as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, from inception to completion.  A proven aptitude for technology and/or software solutions and analytical skills is required.  Project management certification is a plus.  Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies is required, and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in travel management is very desirable.  This position may be based in our Waterloo, IA, or Overland Park, KS, office.  Remote candidates will also be considered.

The SPM will be a company leader who provides insights, manages, plans, organizes, trains, and executes on Short’s Travel’s project schedules and management processes to ensure the goals and objectives of each project are achieved within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.  The SPM will advise senior management and leaders to select candidate projects that best align with the strategic goals of the company by providing a sound business case and cost/benefit ratio.  With regards to project governance, the SPM will set policies, regulations, functions, processes, procedures, and responsibilities that define the establishment, management, and control of projects, programs, and portfolios.  This position requires an ability to maintain consistent and professional relationships with internal team members and stakeholders and will function autonomously both as an individual contributor and in a coordinated team environment.

 

On-Site Corporate Travel Consultant

A qualified candidate is required to have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Prior experience handling VIP travel clients is required
  • Apollo experience is preferred
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours during peak travel periods and during emergency situations is also required
  • Travel and Tourism Certification is a plus

 This position responds to customer travel requests received via all means of business contact (in person, phone, e-mail or fax) for air, hotel and car reservations in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. An individual in this position manages all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements, including support of on-line bookings. The candidate placed in this position will have the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.

 

Sports Travel Consultant NCAA

Short's Travel Management is seeking dynamic and qualified candidates to fill the position of Sports Travel Consultant for the NCAA Championships. This position will be located in our Waterloo, IA office. A qualified candidate is required to have an Associate’s Degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar customer service position. A Travel and Tourism Certification is desired but not mandatory. Flexibility to work overtime as well as evening and weekends shifts during peak business periods is required.

This position responds to customer travel requests received via all means of business contact (phone, e-mail or fax) for reservations (air, hotel, rental car, charters or other modes of transportation) in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. The individuals in these positions manage all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements. The candidates placed in these positions will have the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.
