CABMA Convention 2023



The STM team recently attended CABMA's 73rd annual convention June 11-14, 2023. Once again, STM sponsored the Welcome Social and Doug Beard Golf tournament that kicks off the event. A great time was had by all!

In addition to sponsoring the tournament, STM’s own, Kim Moore was a moderator on a panel discussing how participants can benefit from CABMA’s Mentor Me program as they continue to grow their careers in Athletics.

The STM team enjoyed connecting with familiar faces and attendees once again.




American Bus Association: Women in Buses Council

STM's own Amanda Koelker has been invited to serve as Marketing/Communications Committee Vice Chair for the American Bus Association: Women in Buses Council.

As part of her marketing/communication responsibilities, she will serve as spokesperson, supporting and promoting the Council program and features to any group identified by Chairman and ABA.

STM is here to help her with any/all tasks required and ensure she makes a lasting impact on the WIB Council. Way to Go Amanda!






Record Number of Americans Expected to Travel for Independence Day Holiday

A new study is projecting that 50.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Fourth of July holiday travel period, a number that would become the new record for Independence Day weekend.

According to data from AAA Travel, domestic travel in the United States over the long weekend will increase by 2.1 million people compared to 2022 and should pass the 2019 total of 49 million American travelers....read more

 


5G rollout could spur massive airline delays, cancellations, aviation expert warns

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg warns of problems with flight cancellations as summer travel season looms Biden administration officials have warned that an upcoming 5G rollout may cause serious travel disruptions starting July 1. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said roughly 80% of domestic airlines have already made the necessary changes to prevent the 5G from interfering with equipment, but the threat of delays still remains. "There's a real risk of delays or cancelations," Buttigieg said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal."This represents one of the biggest, probably the biggest, foreseeable problem affecting performance this summer."...read more
