Delta to Launch Seven New Summer Transatlantic Routes

Delta plans a "record" summer 2025 transatlantic expansion with seven new routes and additional service to existing destinations, the carrier announced Friday.

Several of the new routes, which are planned to launch in May 2025, include locales in Italy. Those include four-times weekly service between Boston and Milan, four-times weekly flights between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Rome, four-times weekly service between Atlanta and Naples, and daily service between New York (John F. Kennedy International Airport) and Catania in Sicily.

Delta Unveils a New Cabin Interior

Delta will debut a new-look aircraft interior this fall. 

The interior -- featuring new color palettes, seat covers and light accents -- will first take flight on a Delta Boeing 757 narrowbody. Early next year, Delta will introduce the new look on an Airbus A350 widebody.

Feds Publish Final Rule on Real ID

Real ID is coming ... eventually, but it's time to get serious about making sure your identification is up to date.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Transportation published a final rule Friday in the Federal Register (the daily journal of the federal government) regarding the rollout of new security standards that driver's licenses and state identification cards have to meet in order to be used for federal purposes — including passing through airport security checkpoints — beginning in the spring of 2025. The new requirements will be in place by Nov. 25, but there will still be wiggle room for ID verification until 2027, when full enforcement will be in place.

After multiple delays, the DHS says its latest deadline, May 7, 2025, is locked in for officially implementing the Real ID requirement for domestic air travel. The rule became official Friday after a period for public comment.

"To avoid airport checkpoint delays, all travelers over the age of 18 must have REAL ID compliant identification by the May 7, 2025 deadline," a TSA spokesperson told TPG. Hotel labor strikes continue in major US cities — but signs of progress emerge


Nearly two months of labor strikes have occurred at hotels in some of the top destinations in the U.S., but some properties are finally reaching a deal with employees.

More than 4,000 combined workers have been on strike at hotels affiliated with Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton in Boston, Honolulu and San Francisco. While earlier strikes were shorter multiday protests, most of the ongoing ones are indefinite, with workers saying they will continue to strike until they get a new contract...read more
