Sabin noted travel costs vary significantly depending on game contracts and conference scheduling, but that the savings were the result of “fewer away games by charter aircraft for football, as well as savings from men’s basketball on reduced hotel, bus and meal expenses.”
Sabin also noted the athletic department contracted with Short’s Travel Management to provide travel services, discounted hotel, air and bus rates, and brokered charter flights, “resulting in a large savings by all athletic teams, coaches and staff.” More
