
About Alex...
Alex Sturges serves as Chief Operating Officer at Short’s Travel Management, leading company operations and working across departments to strengthen execution, collaboration, and strategic growth.
Alex brings extensive experience in operational leadership, performance improvement, and scaling organizations. Prior to joining Short’s, he served as President of Nutiliti, a utility management software company serving property managers nationwide. Under his leadership, the company grew to approximately 100 employees and managed nearly 35,000 utility bills each month across the country.
Known for building high-performing teams and creating operational efficiencies, Alex brings a results-driven approach focused on turning strategy into action and building the processes and infrastructure needed to support long-term growth.
Alex also has strong ties to athletics. He played collegiate lacrosse at Washington and Lee University and later served as a color commentator for Major League Lacrosse.
He earned his Executive MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Management from Wake Forest University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Biology from Washington and Lee University, graduating cum laude.

Alex lives in Whitefish, Montana where he spends his free time fly fishing, hiking, and camping throughout the summer, and skiing when the snow comes in. Above all, he values time with his family, whether that's out on the trails or closer to home. A North Carolina native at heart, his loyalty to the Panthers and Tar Heels has never wavered.
