Short’s Travel Management is seeking a dynamic, qualified, and experienced candidate for Project Manager. This role is an addition to the Project Management team. A qualified candidate is required to have a BS or BA degree or equivalent experience, as well as a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, from inception to completion. A proven aptitude for technology and/or software solutions and analytical skills is required. Project management certification is a plus. Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies is required, and experience in travel management is very desirable. This position may be based in our Waterloo, IA, office, Overland Park, KS, office or remotely from home.
The Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager to provide insights, manage, plan, and organize Short’s Travel’s project schedules and management processes to ensure the goals and objectives of each project are achieved within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters. With regards to project governance, the PM will maintain policies, regulations, functions, processes, procedures, and responsibilities that define the establishment, management, and control of projects, programs, and portfolios. This position requires an ability to maintain consistent and professional relationships with internal team members and stakeholders and will function autonomously both as an individual contributor and in a coordinated team environment.
Short’s Travel Management is seeking a dynamic and qualified candidate to fill the position of Controller. A qualified candidate is required to have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or private accounting. CPA certification is preferred. This position will report to the CFO and can be located in the Waterloo, IA office, Overland Park, KS office or be virtual from home.
The Controller will assist the CFO in directing the organization’s accounting functions including cost, payables, and reporting. This position will contribute to the development and maintenance of our overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. It will direct all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports and will present findings and recommendations to management.
Sports Travel Consultant - NCAA Championships
Short's Travel Management is seeking dynamic and qualified candidates to fill the position of Sports Travel Consultant for the NCAA Championships. This position will be located in our Waterloo, IA office. A qualified candidate is required to have an Associate’s Degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar customer service position. A Travel and Tourism Certification is desired but not mandatory. Flexibility to work overtime as well as evening and weekends shifts during peak business periods is required.
This position responds to customer travel requests received via all means of business contact (phone, e-mail or fax) for reservations (air, hotel, rental car, charters or other modes of transportation) in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. The individuals in these positions manage all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements. The candidates placed in these positions will have the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.
Corporate Travel Consultant
Short’s Travel Management is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill Corporate Travel Consultant positions. A minimum of 5 years of travel agent experience is required, as well as a minimum of 3 years of international booking and ticketing experience. A background in VIP service is a plus. This position can be located in the Waterloo, IA office, Overland Park, KS office or be virtual from home.
This position plans domestic and international itineraries (air, hotel, car, or other modes of transportation) in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. Must be aware of travel requirements for international travel. Must be able to handle very detailed international reservations with a high level of customer service. Must be able to determine alternative routings for the best fare. An individual in this position manages all functions and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer request relating to the booking, administrative and industry requirements. The candidate placed in this position will have the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.
