Business Development Manager

Short's Travel Management is seeking a dynamic and motivated candidate for the position of Business Development - Athletics.  A qualified candidate is required to have a BS or BA degree; MBA and previous sales experience is a plus. This role may be located in our Overland Park, KS or Waterloo, IA office or may be virtual from home. Ability to travel is required (20-50%).

This position is responsible for generating prospective sales leads and new client sales for Short’s Travel Management.  This position will utilize networking and customer relationship skills to contact and qualify strategic prospects including university athletic departments, professional sports organizations, and more.  A qualified candidate will be able to develop strategies, implement plans, analyze campaign performance and communicate directly with clients. They will be part of the sales and marketing department and report directly to the Director of Sales. An individual in this position will be required to maintain a strong sales pipeline, meet annual sales goals, and maintain positive client relationships with appropriate follow through and periodic contact.  The candidate placed in this position will possess the ability to function autonomously and also be effective contributing in a team environment.


 Sales & Marketing Intern

Short’s Travel Management is seeking a motivated intern looking to support sales and marketing and gain experience in the Travel Industry.  This intern position will focus on the development of STM’s marketing and social media strategies and assist with marketing collateral ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance with required STM standards. They will develop and implement a social media campaign to reach new prospective clients and will analyze and report the results to the Sales Team.  This position can be located virtually or in our Overland Park, KS Office; 10-20 hours per week with flexibility around intern’s class schedule. 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy and Planning: Create strategies and plans, provide timely feedback, participate in brainstorms and provide suggestions for improvements on all marketing campaigns.

Marketing: Maintain day-to-day activity on social media pages.  Develop campaigns to reach new followings and increase engagement and growth. Assist with marketing collateral.

Sales: Provide information on STM services to potential new clients via the telephone and email and assist team with sales process where applicable.


 Sales Coordinator

Short’s Travel Management is now seeking a dynamic and qualified candidate to fill the open position of Sales Coordinator.  A qualified candidate is required to have strong creative writing and marketing skills, Microsoft office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Previous experience in the travel or hospitality industry is a plus. Bachelor degree or higher is required. Based on job performance, this position is intended to transition to a future Sales Manager role within Short’s Travel. 

This position is responsible for the development of requests for proposals for new business sales and client renewals, CRM management, and coordination of all conference and trade shows. In addition, the Sales Coordinator is responsible for managing all timelines, maintaining and updating all content, as well as updating and maintaining a formal RFP library. 

The Sales Coordinator will also be responsible for assisting in other marketing functions as requested by their leader including, but not limited to content and management of all marketing materials, trade-show support and newsletter creation and distribution. 


 

Bookkeeper/Accountant

Short’s Travel Management is seeking an ambitious, goal-oriented  Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our Finance Team.  A qualified candidate will possess an Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting plus a minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting/bookkeeping OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.  It is preferred that the candidate is based in Whitefish, MT. Qualified remote candidates will also be considered.

The Bookkeeper/Accountant will be responsible for invoicing, collections and reconciliations required for STM Charters.


Executive Assistant

STM Charters, Inc is seeking a dynamic and qualified candidate to fill the open position of Executive Assistant.  A qualified candidate is required to have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position or 5 years in a junior administrative assistant position. 

This position autonomously and professionally carries out administrative tasks and coordinates daily office functions in response to the operational requirements of the business and in support of the office of the president.  An individual in this position manages all functions relating to the administrative tasks necessary to support the ongoing business needs of the president, manages company correspondence and communications, coordinates meetings, group and special events, and ensures that the office environment and equipment are adequately maintained in support of daily business functions.  The candidate placed in this position will function in a dual role providing assistance to the president with personal issues as required and managing the office and facility as required.

This position will be located in the Whitefish/Kalispell, MT area.


Project Manager

Short’s Travel Management is seeking a dynamic, qualified, and experienced candidate for Project Manager. This role is an addition to the Project Management team.  A qualified candidate is required to have a BS or BA degree or equivalent experience, as well as a minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, from inception to completion.  A proven aptitude for technology and/or software solutions and analytical skills is required.  Project management certification is a plus.  Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies is required, and experience in travel management is very desirable.  This position may be based in our Waterloo, IA, office, Overland Park, KS, office or remotely from home.

The Project Manager will support the Senior Project Manager to provide insights, manage, plan, and organize Short’s Travel’s project schedules and management processes to ensure the goals and objectives of each project are achieved within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.  With regards to project governance, the PM will maintain policies, regulations, functions, processes, procedures, and responsibilities that define the establishment, management, and control of projects, programs, and portfolios.  This position requires an ability to maintain consistent and professional relationships with internal team members and stakeholders and will function autonomously both as an individual contributor and in a coordinated team environment.


ARC Processor

Short’s Travel Management is seeking a dynamic and qualified ARC Processor to join our growing Finance Team.  A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent as well as a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar administrative position.  Knowledge of IAR/IAR 2.0 preferred, but not required.  Travel and Tourism certificate and/or experience desired.  This entry-level position will be based in our Overland Park, KS office. 

The ARC Processor will be responsible for managing ARC tasks according to industry standards and within corporate guidelines. The candidate placed in this position must have the ability to function autonomously, as an individual contributor, and as a team member in a coordinated team environment.


Sports Travel Consultant - NCAA Championships

Short's Travel Management is seeking dynamic and qualified candidates to fill the position of Sports Travel Consultant for the NCAA Championships. This position will be located in our Waterloo, IA office. A qualified candidate is required to have an Associate’s Degree and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar customer service position. A Travel and Tourism Certification is desired but not mandatory. Flexibility to work overtime as well as evening and weekends shifts during peak business periods is required. 

This position responds to customer travel requests received via all means of business contact (phone, e-mail or fax) for reservations (air, hotel, rental car, charters or other modes of transportation) in an efficient, courteous and timely manner. The individuals in these positions manage all functions relating to the booking, administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents as it relates to customer requests and industry requirements. The candidates placed in these positions will have the ability to function autonomously and in a team environment.


Product Manager

Short’s Travel is seeking a dynamic and qualified candidate to fill the position of Product Manager. A qualified candidate is required to have a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in product development, from inception to completion.

The Product Manager will manage and coordinate product development projects, working with other departments to establish a design, technology, and vendor strategy. This role will evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues, ensuring the goals and objectives of product development are achieved within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Develop products by identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction, and developing marketing strategies.
